HARPA PETITION

Here it is, as promised!

As you know, our MPP Champion on the HARPA, Reza Moridi (Lib) has put a motion before the Legislature to strike a special group to review the HARPA. We need to support his motion!

The Petition we are sending you (attached) is the official Ontario Government Petition. We are asking that only one person sign it at a time and that it be mailed back to the OAMRT Office. According to Government rules, your signed petition can't be copied, faxed or sent in by electronic means. This is to reduce fraud. We will take your original Petition and send it to various MPPs who are willing to support the petition from all 3 Parties, which is why we are asking that it be mailed to us. When you reproduce the Petition Form for others to sign individually (including non-OAMRT MRTs, nurses, secretaries, etc.), please ensure that they mail their individual signed petition to the OAMRT Office. Please print and post this note and the petition at your place of employment.

Your support in signing and getting others to sign the forthcoming Petition could very well be the catalyst to getting the HARPA updated and harmonized with the X-Ray Safety Code under the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario.

This is an important issue that will impact on your job if the Act and the Regulations are not updated.
